Re-Introducing Me!

Embarrassingly enough, I realized the other day that I have never really introduced myself since officially becoming Alexandra michelle Photography over a year ago!  I just assumed that those reading know me and have always been followers but that is just simply not true.  As my blog activity has increased from a mere 10 readers a post to over 100 a post, I have to take some time to introduce myself and my business.

Over the winter I spent some time creating a six page Welcome Guide that includes information such as “Meet Alex” and “The Who, What, When, Where & Why”.  Today I’m going to share with you the Who, What and Why of by business plus a little more about me.

Meet Me:

Hi!  For those who don’t know me, my name is Alex.  Yes I know my business name is my full name but we don’t have to be as formal here so just call me Alex (since most people do).  I am 27 years old (even though I look younger, I know) and I am both a teacher and a photographer.  My first love is being a science teacher for middle school students and my love for creating and working with people shines through with my photography.  I have a goldendoodle named Winnie and my boyfriend has a German Short Haired Pointer named Stella and since I’ve known her since he first brought her home, she’s basically my dog too 🙂

I’m originally from Baltimore and love me some Orioles baseball!  Going home for me means being with my parents and three siblings and if it’s a hot summer day, picking crabs.  I moved to Richmond after attending James Madison University and love living in the River City.

I’m goofy, love to dance to beat of my own drum and love working with children!  I’m detail oriented and pour myself over my projects making them the best they can be.

Meet My Business: The Who, What and Why

Who do I photograph?  Since I have spent my whole life working with children, from camp counselor to teacher, I sometimes feel that I am more myself when around people half my age.  I love to photograph children and families because I can be goofy and completely myself in order to get the photograph that captures their genuine personality.  The focus of Alexandra Michelle Photography is to capture families, new or aged.  I want to meet families from the beginning and work with a community of families that I can photograph and watch grow year after year.  Whether they grow with more family members or with age, I love seeing the small changes that deepen the love each family has.

What does each session entail?
While photographing you and your family, I’m going to focus on capturing genuine images that show your natural beauty and love. I want to take images with beautiful color or clean black and whites. I love to focus in on the eyes and try to encapsulate genuine personality. Some of my favorite images are those in which things are not perfect but real, silly and joyful. With each session you will receive:

  • Two hour portrait time with unlimited outfit changes within the two hours.
  • High resolution polished (edited) images sent to you through an online gallery and available for digital download.
  • Flashdrive and package sent to you personally with all high resolution polished images

Why should you work with me?

Working with me as your photographer means that you will get a quality experience and quality images. I care about the people I work with and want to provide the best experience possible. Your session will be relaxed and I will guide you each step of the way to make sure your images are worth while. I also pride myself in being detail orientated and work hard to provide images that you will want to share and print. You should be warned though, I will bust out my corny jokes and sound effects when needed. 🙂
