This session was so fun and so special because I absolutely love Becky (Maggie and Cooper’s mom), however, it was almost a disaster! I got to Becky’s house and was greeted by the two precious little turkeys Cooper and Maggie. I instantly fell in love with them as they showed me around, shared their toys with me and giggled away! Becky and I set up the backdrop in Maggie’s room, got her into her dress and just as we were about to start, I opened my camera bag and my heart dropped. You see right before I left I took out my memory cards to dump all the images from the last session onto my computer so I could clear them. I put my camera into my bag with the card slots open so I wouldn’t forget… and then, I was on my way out of the house, closed my camera bag and walked out the door… without the memory cards… yup.
All I could think about was “What am I going to do? We live 20 minutes away… I’m so embarrassed!” and then of course a lot of “How could you forget those!?”. I looked to Becky and said “Becky you won’t believe what I did…”
All I can say is, thank God for patient, understanding people, the best giggly babies and Sterling who dropped everything as soon as I called and drove my memory cards out to Becky’s house. Becky was so understanding and truly made it “no big deal” even though to me it felt like the biggest deal ever. Meanwhile though, while we waited for Sterling, I got to play on the floor with Cooper and Maggie! I got some new nick names from Cooper and learned the theme song to Blaze and the Monster Machines!
Once the memory cards arrived, it was as though we never skipped a beat, and let me tell you, little Miss Maggie ran the show (in a great way!). She is a hoot and just wants to be as fast, active and fun as her big brother. Just wait until you see the ones where Maggie is with Cooper, she literally looks up to him with these “Wow” eyes as though he is the best big brother ever.
In our session we took some images of Maggie in a white dress that many other women in Becky’s family also wore for their one year pictures. We then changed into a precious little fall outfit and went outside to play with Cooper! Cooper is equally cute and kept saying “Can you take my picture?” (SO CUTE!) I probably over stayed my welcome but I just couldn’t get enough of these two littles, especially when Cooper calls me “Toots McGavin”! (Disclaimer, I am definitely obsessed with 2-5 year olds little language and the way they learn new words, I’m not sure there is anything as precious.)
Becky and Chris – Thank you for your patience and understanding, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. I had a blast hanging out with you guys and your family. By far my favorite part was the two of you singing and dancing behind me so Cooper and Maggie would both look at me and smile. I definitely had “Blaze and the Monster Machine, OH YEAH!” stuck in my head for a few days but it was completely worth it! I hope you love these images as much as I do! Love, Alex
