You want to know the best part about seeing people you are close to start a family?  Watching their littles get personalities and become their own people.  I went down to see Sarah, Ian and Cora with Sterling and not only did we get these great family pictures and some cake smash images for Cora’s first birthday but then the best thing happened… Cora and I had our very first dance party.  

Dance parties are kind of my thing.  In college when my roommates and I were down we would have spontaneous dance parties where we put the ipod on shuffle and any song that came on we had to dance our hearts out to.  The best one of these was in the rain.  Yeah you heard me, the rain.  And not that cute rain like “oh is it raining?” I’m talking downpour, late spring, warm rain, pre-thunderstorm season.  Perfection.

More about dance parties in general later, for now let me tell you about my dance party with Cora.  This girl is a lady who likes to watch you for a little while before she jumps into something.  So when we moved the furniture out of the room for the Cake Smash I saw her eyes widen and it was if she  walked in like “We have so much room for activities!” and that’s when it happened.  We started the dance party.  We bee bobbed around, giggling and twirling to “Twistin the night away!”.  I did however get the words wrong so instead of “Twistin, twistin…” it became “Dancin… Dancin…” and she became the biggest giggle monster ever!  I felt like saying “Did we just become best friends!?”  “I think we just became best friends!!”  It seriously made my whole day and now I can look forward to all the dance parties in the future.
