Our maternity session was perfect but as we were getting in the cars and leaving I kept feeling like I hadn’t done something. It was as I was driving out of Crump Park that I realized what it was… we forgot to get images of just Kayleigh, by herself, in all her maternity glory. I knew I wanted those images and I had a feeling Kayleigh did too. We must be on the same brain wave because just as I was about to text her asking if she’d mind meeting up again, she beat me to it! Asking if I minded if we could meet up again and get a few more of just her? Mind!? Of course I didn’t mind, I wanted these images for her just as much as she did. Maternity images should be about the upcoming family and the excitement and love the parents feel for this new life but also to celebrate the woman who is building this little life step by step. Maternity sessions should pay tribute to the strength and grace of the future mom who is in my opinion, a warrior princess. 🙂
So we met back up and just when I thought it couldn’t get better, it did. The light was gorgeous and the park seemed to have even more great spots for images than before. Oh and Kayleigh, she is seriously the best. I mean it. The. Best. I saw a corn field off in the distance and I thought oh man, I really want to shoot there. But… there was a fence… with a lock… and a pregnant woman in a gorgeous dress who I thought, may not want to climb a fence, in a dress, to go into a field of overgrown corn to get images…. Oh boy was I wrong. I suggested it to her and she was like ‘yeah girl, absolutely’ in the most cool girl I climb fences, kind of way. Like I said… The. Best.
So we did, we climbed not one, but two fences and got ourselves in a corn field to take GORGEOUS images. I was swooning then and I am swooning now. I love these images.
So Kayleigh – Thank you for being on my brain wave the entire time and being such a fun, easy going person to work with. I’m so glad we did this and I can’t wait to meet your little guy soon. 🙂
