This session is one of my all time favorites because it is SUPER special to me!! Sarah was one of my students in the 7th grade and now she is a SENIOR!!! Her mom is one of my friends from work and so this session was like a little reunion and is just what I needed. Getting to catch up with them completely filled my bucket!
Getting to see my old students and catch up with them is by far my favorite part about being a teacher. I love it! Which is one of the reasons that moving to Baltimore was so hard for me because I knew I wouldn’t have little run ins with my kids anymore. Getting to catch up with Sarah while also taking her senior portraits has now become the best part of being a photographer so far! It was a combination of two things I love and it was so fun!
This summer weather has been so crazy that we almost had to cancel our session but thank God we decided to just go for it and the weather held up. We met up at Belle Isle and spent the time together walking around the whole island, chatting, laughing and of course taking beautiful images of Sarah. She is just as beautiful and kind as she was in 7th grade but now with bigger dreams and a great big future ahead of her. She was exactly herself which I loved. She wore her hightop chucks because that’s her which makes these images beautiful but also totally her. It’s crazy because in some of the images she looks so grown up and in some she looks just like the 7th grader I had in class. 🙂
I can’t wait to see where she ends up next year and all the great adventures she gets into!
