This week is “Best of” week and I’m kicking it off with the sector of my business that meant the most to me this past year. I’ve always loved working with seniors but this year I had the privilege of working with three seniors who were past students of mine when they were 7th graders! While I get to work with amazing families, newborns and people who become friends, getting to work with girls that were students of mine by far tops the charts.
I loved teaching when I was in the room, absolutely loved it. Teaching science was my first dream come true and I always say was my first true love. When I left the room to become an instructional coach the thing I’ve missed the most is my students. They could always make me laugh and brighten my day and I loved getting to know them throughout the year. I was that teacher who cried every year on the last day of school because I was so sad to have to say goodbye to my kiddos. Especially when I taught 8th graders and I knew I wouldn’t see many of them again. So imagine my excitement this past year getting to reunite with not just one but three girls from my days in C-11 science class.
The best part of taking these girls senior portraits was getting to see them all grown up and hearing their plans for their futures. I still can’t believe how grown up they look but also how similar they are to their 7th grade selves. Senior sessions are a blast and I’m hoping I’ll get to do more in the future, especially if it involves any of my old students. 🙂
Check out the best from my senior sessions in 2018!
