Pike Newborn Session
— Baltimore, Maryland —
Can you believe I’ve known Peyton since we were TEENAGERS!? Yes! She was 14 and I was 12 when I first started going to Camp Mont Shenandoah and she became not only a friend to me but in a lot of ways a mentor. As a camper, I looked up to her as a legacy camper, a Green team cheerleader and then the Captain! When I joined her as a counselor she helped show me the ropes and always made sure I was included. She took me along with her on days off, showed me how to be a mentor to younger campers and even sat outside a bathroom stall of Junior Four (a bathroom at camp) when I was in tears because I was so afraid of going to college. When we moved back to Baltimore this summer she was one of the first to reach out and invite us over to hang out and have dinner. She is a great friend.
The friendships I’ve made from summer camp are unlike any other in my life. It’s a mixture of childhood friends plus college roommates. These people are so special to me and I so deeply cherish them! It has been an amazing gift to get to see these friends make their dreams come true. 🙂
Being able to see Peyton marry Ryan at camp and to witness how happy they make each other was amazing, but getting to see them become parents to baby Miller is unlike anything else. They are naturals and I am so happy for them!
Baby Miller is sweet and curious. He has big beautiful eyes that watch you, taking you all in. While he stayed awake for 90% of the session he rarely fussed. He laid there watching us and I kept thinking “He’s going to be so smart, look at him taking it all in and he’s only 2 weeks old!” Almost as cute as Miller is his puppy brother Brantley who did not leave his side. Brantley seems to have adjusted well, he keeps a close eye on Miller and loves to snooze under the crib. 🙂 Brantley also knew when it was his turn to shine and did such a good job for the whole group image, which is not typically as easy as it looks.
Peyton and Ryan – I am so happy for you guys! I can’t wait to see you and baby Miller again; we’ll have to host you over at our house with Miller soon!
