— Richmond, Virginia – Softball Senior Portraits —

I have to admit I’m a bit embarrassed it’s taken me this long to get these images onto my blog – especially because they are seriously BEAUTIFUL!  Maddie was one of my students in 7th grade and now is a senior, I seriously can’t believe it!  All my students that I taught are now in high school or college and it is kind of wild to see them all grown up.  Maddie may be taller and older but she is just as kind, smart and humble as she was back in Middle School.  She is incredibly talented too!  She has committed to play softball at George Mason next year!

We met up for her session over at her high school so we could start with pictures on the softball field – her home away from home.  She wanted images from this session that really felt like her so there was no better setting than the field in her uniform. The way the sun hit the field created the perfect glow!  Beyond the props of her baseball glove and bat, the BEST addition to her images was her dog!  Her mom had asked if we could add in their family dog into some of the images and I have to admit I was a little nervous at first.  You never know how dogs will be for pictures – will they be still, looking forward, calm enough for the shot?  Add in the fact of being outside (typically) and a new person (me) and it can be a lot to handle at times.

What I realized as soon as I met up with them though was that this dog is amazing! an older Golden Retriever who posed like a champ!  He did exactly what we asked of him and was the perfect model.  I love the way the images turned out with him in them and I love that she’ll cherish them forever!

Maddie – Congratulations on everything you’ve accomplished!  Enjoy the end of your senior year with your friends and family!  I hope you’re having a killer softball season so far!
