Three generations of women met for this portrait session. A baby blessed to a woman who will cherish her every day of her life. A baby who was prayed for when she was just an idea and now her sweet sunshine is here and the joy she gives to others is palpable.
When Amanda reached out about doing a mini session together I was thrilled. She and I are sorority sisters from JMU and she is one of the nicest girls around! I was so happy for her when I heard she was pregnant because I knew that she’d been hoping and praying for her baby girl for quite some time. Then baby Rhyley comes along and she is a DOLL. Gorgeous blue eyes, the most precious baby chub and a demeanor that already seems soft and kind like Amanda’s.
She met for Mommy and Me minis in Libby Hill Park with her Mom and baby Rhyley. Her mom has just recently retired from being an elementary school principal in the county that I had just come from! That was fun because we immediately had something to talk about and we knew a lot of the same people! It’s also really fun including grandmothers in the mommy and me sessions because it adds another layer of interaction and I also love delivering images with three generations in one image. I know for me, these would be images that I’d cherish through the years. 🙂
So we met up and braved a cobblestone street to snag these images. Amanda looked beautiful and is natural as a mom! It’s sweet to see friends with their new babies at this stage because it’s still new but it’s so sweet. As Amanda leaned towards Rhyley to get her to smile, the way Rhyley stared at her Momma and the soft gentle cuddles just fill in the frame of the images and feel fleeting but precious. The way Amanda’s momma let’s get take the spotlight as a new mom and has all the confidence in her is equally sweet. She has stepped into the role of grandma so gracefully and loves this baby girl sooo much!
I’m swooning over the images with the big epic tree swooping in and then, of course, the images of the three of them together. Enjoy!
