This might be my favorite session to date.  It’s true, I said it.  It was a mix of everything going just right in the most important ways.  The session was during golden hour, in a beautiful location, we took into account where the sun was setting so the light was ideal, and most importantly, we were SO comfortable with each other!  I should add that the reason why we are so comfortable together is because we are good friends from JMU!  Drew and Sterling (my husband) are fraternity brothers from JMU and Stacy and me are sorority sisters from JMU.  Since we are good friends from college, coming together for this session was so sweet and easy!  Additionally, Stacy’s mom and dad came along which was so nice to have extra helpers to watch our bags and be the smile task force.  They were so sweet to come and help and such a Godsend! 

For this session, we knew we wanted to meet up at the beach!  We picked a spot a little off the beaten path where Stacy’s parents actually lived in the early years of their relationship!  It was the perfect setting because it is a short beach which means there weren’t a ton of people around.  Additionally, the dunes were long and gorgeous which a large dip down to the beach which hid the people below.  We met up right at golden hour which provided nice soft and warm light which wrapped around them nicely.

Beyond the light and the backgrounds, what shines through in these images is just how deeply Drew and Stacy cherish each other.  They are high school sweethearts that can bust a MOVE on the dance floor!  They were always best friends and you could tell then and now that they just love being around each other.  Witnessing their love through the years has always been a treat for everyone who knows them.  They respect each other, admire the other and are each other’s biggest fans.

Now to see them become parents is something truly special!  It’s neat to see them with Kent and think – he hit the jackpot for parents.  He’s going to be the teen who actually loves to be around his parents and have his friends over, the kid who looks up to his parents as role models and the adult who has an amazing example for what to look for in love.

I love these images not only because they are beautiful with backgrounds I’m proud of, natural posing, and pretty colors but more because I love the people in them and how sweet of an experience we had getting to spend time together.  Drew and Stacy – I love you guys and am so happy for you and your growing family!  Kent is sweet and easy going and already a true reflection of how amazing the two of you are!
