Maddie is turning TWO in September and it doesn’t feel that long ago that I took her newborn pictures!!  (see post here)  In her newborn session she slept the entire time and let me tell you, she has definitely livened up!  🙂

Maddie girl is a curly top beauty who is active, curious and independent.  We got to Libby Hill Park and Maddie was instantly on the go!  She wanted to see everything and more than anything wanted to run.  She was fearless as she took off down the concrete hill – this girl will be a force as she grows up and I mean this in the best possible way!  I can see her growing up to be a leader who charges forward and an energy people want to be friends with.  She perfectly embodies one of my FAVORITE quotes “and though she be but little, she is fierce” – Shakespeare (A Midsummer’s Night Dream).

Her mom is a great friend of mine.  We taught together for years and still keep in touch even as I’ve moved to Baltimore.  I love her little family and was really excited to do our Mommy and Me Mini with not just her and Maddie but also her mother, Nancy.  I think it’s really special that Maddie will have images like these to pass to her children.  It makes these images more than just a snapshot and more of a legacy to pass on and I love that!

While I love all of these for the colors and the moments, I think my favorite is the one of Sarah and her mom arm in arm in the background watching Maddie run.  🙂  I love how Nancy is supporting Sarah and they are watching from afar as the next generation takes charge.  This may sound silly but I feel like it really represents motherhood in such a universal way.
