Summer Maternity Session in Wide Open Fields of Virginia

I just have to say I LOVE this location and the more I shoot here the more I want to shoot everything here. Wide open fields, wildflowers, and very little foot traffic make this an idyllic location for many. It was a beautiful spot to shoot Lindsey and Eli’s maternity session. We met one summer evening and just missed a downpour. Just missed though doesn’t mean we didn’t totally miss some rain. You’d (hopefully) never notice that I individually edited out raindrops from her dress in Photoshop which may have been time-consuming but so worth it for the final product.

Now this session was a bit of time ago so you can look forward to seeing Lindsey and Eli’s newborn session soon. Get excited for a gorgeous Western warm pink nursery vibe and the cutest newborn girl! What I can say now having worked with Eli and Lindsey for both sessions is that they are the sweetest couple and also so gorgeous! I kept saying to them they need to get paid to take images as models 🙂

There is something so sweet that I love about maternity sessions. Firstly, it’s a nice change of pace working with grown-ups who I can pose exactly how I’d like without silly games. More importantly, I love the excitement of a maternity session. It’s sweet as they wrapped their arms around the growing baby. These sessions feel soft and gentle and I love getting to capture a couple as they grow their family with so much excitement and unknown.
