Our maternity session was perfect but as we were getting in the cars and leaving I kept feeling like I hadn’t done something. It was as I was driving out of Crump Park that I realized what it was… we forgot to get images of just Kayleigh, by herself, in all her maternity glory. I knew I wanted those images and I had a feeling Kayleigh did too. We must be on the same brain wave because just as I was about to text her asking if she’d mind meeting up again, she beat me to it! Asking if I minded if we could meet up again and get a few more of just her? Mind!? Of course I didn’t mind, I wanted these images for her just as much as she did. Maternity images should be about the upcoming family and the excitement and love the parents feel for this new life but also to celebrate the woman who is building this little life step by step. Maternity sessions should pay tribute to the strength and grace of the future mom who is in my opinion, a warrior princess. 🙂
So we met back up and just when I thought it couldn’t get better, it did. The light was gorgeous and the park seemed to have even more great spots for images than before. Oh and Kayleigh, she is seriously the best. I mean it. The. Best. I saw a corn field off in the distance and I thought oh man, I really want to shoot there. But… there was a fence… with a lock… and a pregnant woman in a gorgeous dress who I thought, may not want to climb a fence, in a dress, to go into a field of overgrown corn to get images…. Oh boy was I wrong. I suggested it to her and she was like ‘yeah girl, absolutely’ in the most cool girl I climb fences, kind of way. Like I said… The. Best.
So we did, we climbed not one, but two fences and got ourselves in a corn field to take GORGEOUS images. I was swooning then and I am swooning now. I love these images.
So Kayleigh – Thank you for being on my brain wave the entire time and being such a fun, easy going person to work with. I’m so glad we did this and I can’t wait to meet your little guy soon. 🙂
You guys, these two are amazing! I have to start this post by setting the scene for you so you can truly appreciate how wonderful they are. We met on Sunday evening at Crump Park and it was hot, not just hot but humid. Really humid, I’m talking the kind of humid that has you sweating in a hot second. But even through the humidity, they rocked it! Read More »
Disclaimer: This little post was supposed to be posted with tons of fun pictures and it got a little sneaky on me! This little bugger posted before I uploaded any images and so some of you may have gotten a little preview 🙂 So in case you did see it and wondered “Hey, shouldn’t there be pictures?” welp here they are! 🙂
For me, one of the best parts about summer is being able to go home and visit with my family. Well known fact about me is that I am from Baltimore and love my home town. Even at 28 I get homesick and crave being home in Baltimore. I find myself missing Maria’s Pizza, Orioles Games, and even the Towson Town Mall. 🙂 Above all of that though, I miss my family and getting to go home for long weekends or more during the summer is such a treat. Unlike Thanksgiving when we are driving mostly the whole time, or Christmas which is special in its own way with the hype and busyness of the holiday, summer is relaxing and provides a comfort that feels like normal life before joining the adult world.Read More »
The last time you saw Cole here he was a newborn! You remember, the cutie with the bow tie? I mean common, how could you forget this face! If you didn’t get to see it go check it out by clicking here!
Well now he is 9 months and a really stinker! He is forming his own little personality, he loves to swing and once he warms up, he is a real talker! Amanda and Jamie really have a great baby, he is so easy going and up for anything. We spent our time together walking around Deep Run Park and I have to say, even after a huge storm, it was just as beautiful as ever. Read More »
This past year I realized something important. This is my business and I can do whatever I want with it that will make it work for me! It was really a freeing realization that I didn’t have to be like anyone else or emulate anyone else’s success, I could just be me and do things the way I need to in order to keep my sanity. Deciding to choose session dates in advance that worked for my schedule and working smarter is hopefully going to help me stay organized and give all that I can to each client! Read More »
In this day and age most people have a camera because many people have phones that include cameras. Not only that but a lot of people recognize the benefit of using a DSLR camera and have bought one for themselves and their growing families. So the question is, if you can take these images yourself in the comfort of your day to day life and possibly even your PJs then why would you pay for a professional photographer? Read More »
I love Spring! I’m not going to lie and say it’s my favorite season because Fall will always be my number 1 but I do love Spring. Most of my favorite memories from JMU are from the Spring and now a days when the cold wears off, it’s my favorite thing that I can keep the windows open, go barefoot and enjoy my plants. 🙂 Read More »
So Saturday afternoon me and my friend went to Southern Season to walk around and look for a birthday present for her mom. First let me just say that WOWZERS, Southern Season is awesome! I’m so bummed to hear that my first trip may be my last in Richmond because it is closing on the 25th (WAH!?)
Well in any case we left the store after seriously swooning over everything and I mean everything (the glasses, the cheese, the bakery, the cooking classes kitchen and oh did I mention the CHEESE!) and as we left I saw it, the most perfect portrait location.Read More »
First let me start off by saying, scroll down for a second and then scroll back up. Isn’t Maggie GORGEOUS!!? I mean really! It isn’t a surprise to me how beautiful she is but what was a surprise was how grown up she is! You see, I’ve known Maggie for her whole life, literally. Our Mom’s are old friends and so our families used to spend a lot of time together. Birthday parties, Christmas parties and even Creative Memory parties were spent together. Creative Memories ps is a scrapbooking company and back in the day, we were big into scrapbooking. In any case, as we grew up a bit I would even babysit Maggie and watched her play outside as a little goof ball. Seeing her now all poised and grown up was a little crazy but definitely cool as this girl is going places!Read More »
The last milestone session of this set of three was definitely the best of them all! In Hadley’s first session she was only 6 months old and was a doll baby! I’m serious though, she had this perfect porcelain skin and eyes that just sparkled instantly. Her second session was back in October and was when I got the first real glimpse at her personality. While she was more interactive in the second session then the first, reaching out to let me hold her, smiling at everything and looking adorable as a ladybug, this third session was the most fun because she is so mobile!
