I got to this session a few weeks back, stepped toward the car and was introduced to Even, a three-year-old self-proclaimed bug doctor. Amanda approached me about doing a special session for her mom for Mother’s day and my first thought was – what a sweet idea! Amanda’s brother and her best friend/sister in law just had their first baby girl in the fall and Cole is going to be two at the end of this summer! It’s the perfect time to get nice family portraits!
We met up last Sunday at Bryan park and the weather was just perfect! A little breezy, partially sunny and the temperature was ideal. What was really neat to watch was how much baby Scarlett just adores Cole. She’s not even a year old but you can tell she’s fascinated by him, watching him and even smiling and interacting with him. I never grew up with cousins so it was really cool to watch these two little cousins start their life long friendship. Each picture I took I thought – oh when they are older they are going to be able to look back at these as first memories together. This made this session all the more special!
The third milestone with the Brown Family was just like the other two in the best possible ways. You may remember them from the other two milestone sessions, Joseph’s newborn session and then other portraits around 6 months. I have to admit, doing minis has always really intimidated me. Each year I push off doing them because it just always felt too overwhelming to plan and to execute. So I always said “Next year, yeah definitely next year”. The next year would come and weekends would book up and I’d realize, “oh shoot… I probably should have done minis”.
