Wanna know my favorite way to end a session? Definitely, hands down, getting to play with or chat with the kids. So when Maggie and Cooper asked me if I was going to walk around Crump park with them and see the animals I genuinely jumped for joy and said YES! And then I just about died and went to heaven when little miss Maggie reached out and held my hand the entire time we walked around looking at the piggies! Read More »
I said this on Instagram but it is worth saying again, I am so overwhelmed with excitement and joy for these upcoming minis!! I posted about the mini dates last Thursday and was honestly kind of worried that nobody would sign up. Seriously. I haven’t been present in months and it’s intimidating coming back full swing. So I thought well I’ll post the discount for 24 hours and see what happens because I wasn’t sure people were even visiting this site anymore. Well boy was I wrong – the holiday mini post jumped in viewer stats by 97% from other days in the month and I got a huge response! 11 of my 18 spots filled up within 24 hours!! Fast forward to do today and I only have a handful of spots left for the Fall Mini day and the November Holiday Mini is 100% sold out!! Read More »
Our maternity session was perfect but as we were getting in the cars and leaving I kept feeling like I hadn’t done something. It was as I was driving out of Crump Park that I realized what it was… we forgot to get images of just Kayleigh, by herself, in all her maternity glory. I knew I wanted those images and I had a feeling Kayleigh did too. We must be on the same brain wave because just as I was about to text her asking if she’d mind meeting up again, she beat me to it! Asking if I minded if we could meet up again and get a few more of just her? Mind!? Of course I didn’t mind, I wanted these images for her just as much as she did. Maternity images should be about the upcoming family and the excitement and love the parents feel for this new life but also to celebrate the woman who is building this little life step by step. Maternity sessions should pay tribute to the strength and grace of the future mom who is in my opinion, a warrior princess. 🙂
So we met back up and just when I thought it couldn’t get better, it did. The light was gorgeous and the park seemed to have even more great spots for images than before. Oh and Kayleigh, she is seriously the best. I mean it. The. Best. I saw a corn field off in the distance and I thought oh man, I really want to shoot there. But… there was a fence… with a lock… and a pregnant woman in a gorgeous dress who I thought, may not want to climb a fence, in a dress, to go into a field of overgrown corn to get images…. Oh boy was I wrong. I suggested it to her and she was like ‘yeah girl, absolutely’ in the most cool girl I climb fences, kind of way. Like I said… The. Best.
So we did, we climbed not one, but two fences and got ourselves in a corn field to take GORGEOUS images. I was swooning then and I am swooning now. I love these images.
So Kayleigh – Thank you for being on my brain wave the entire time and being such a fun, easy going person to work with. I’m so glad we did this and I can’t wait to meet your little guy soon. 🙂
You guys, these two are amazing! I have to start this post by setting the scene for you so you can truly appreciate how wonderful they are. We met on Sunday evening at Crump Park and it was hot, not just hot but humid. Really humid, I’m talking the kind of humid that has you sweating in a hot second. But even through the humidity, they rocked it! Read More »
My friend Katie decided to do a new blog series called “Take the Camera Tuesday” and it’s centered around going out and taking pictures for you. She asked me if I wanted to go explore with her and I jumped right in. It was awesome because honestly, I hadn’t taken pictures just for me in a long time, so long that I really don’t remember the last time I just took pictures of landscapes just for me.Read More »
