As I wrap up another amazing fall season with over 30 families served I have made a goal for myself to actually blog and share the images from this season! You see, every year I get so wrapped up in the hustle of the fall season and holiday minis that I always lapse on sharing the images! The Perez family is a perfect example! The images from their second milestone session last year were some of my favorites of the season but I never got to share them! So this year I cheated a bit and combined the images from their second milestone session from 2019 and this years fall session ☺️. You can check out their first milestone session here.
Julia and Chris are friends of ours from college and we have many a late night shenanigan story shared with them. What’s fun about our sessions is that we have recently tried to schedule them so that Sterling can come at the end and we can at least spend time together. This year with COVID we haven’t gotten to see them so it was especially exciting to get to take their pictures and meet up at a park to socially distance spend time together. Finley was only 2 months old so we planned for Sterling and Finley to drive with me and hang out at the park while I took these images. It worked out great because they got to meet Finley in a socially distanced way.
What’s crazy to see in this joint post is how much of a difference a year makes! Jackson looks SO much older in the 2020 images than from the year before! He’s notably taller but has lost some of his baby face too. Each boy is so uniquely different and great in their own way. Jackson is outgoing, adventurous and a strong leader. Ryan is observant, loving, sweet and independent. I had a blast walking through Black Hill Park near Gaithersburg Maryland for our session this year and downtown Frederick last year with this sweet family. We played games, used our imagination and laughed a lot!
Enjoy this joint blog post of our sweet friends and their precious family!
My dear friend and Alpha Phi sister from JMU welcomed her second son into her family this past month and her family of four is precious. You may remember their family session from last spring which had beautiful bright pink colors from those spring blooms. Looking back at just a year ago it’s crazy to see how much their first son Lincoln has changed! He was so much smaller. Now he’s grown into such a sweet big brother to baby Theo. While I can’t speak from experience, I would imagine that many parents bringing home a second baby worry about how the first baby will feel and react. Christina and Erik are over the moon to see how caring and helpful Lincoln is as a big brother! You should have seen how sweetly excited he got when it was his turn to hold his baby brother. He was perfectly calm and stepped up to the responsibility like a champ! Read More »
It’s crazy to think that the last time I saw the Brown family they were welcoming home Elizabeth as a brand new baby! You may remember that session and her gorgeous floral bow! Not to mention Joseph’s camera take over and the cuteness that instilled! This is something I especially love about the milestone package, I get to watch families grow over a year. I can’t get over how much bigger Elizabeth is and how much older Joseph seems! Not to mention seeing Elizabeth grow from a sleepy little infant to a baby with rolls for DAYS! She is ADORABLE! Joseph becomes more and more active with every session we do and it’s so fun. At one point I turned to Lindsey and had to say “so sorry for all the screeching!” as Joseph and I played stormtroopers and I died valiantly as he shot me first. 🙂
Wanna know my favorite way to end a session? Definitely, hands down, getting to play with or chat with the kids. So when Maggie and Cooper asked me if I was going to walk around Crump park with them and see the animals I genuinely jumped for joy and said YES! And then I just about died and went to heaven when little miss Maggie reached out and held my hand the entire time we walked around looking at the piggies! Read More »
My girl Maggie is one of my FAVORITES to photograph because she is SO down to earth and I love it (in my sing-song praise voice)! Her family is so cute and southern but more importantly, she and Rob are also just so sweet!! They make me want to hustle my booty back down to Richmond so we can all be best friends that casually drink wine and hang out! Plus I think Rob and Sterling would just love each other as good ole southern boys.
I first met Maggie a few years ago when I went to her house to take her first born baby, Cabell’s, newborn images. Fash forward a few months and I ran into her at Jack Browns (a burger joint in Richmond) and she immediately lets me know she wants to get on my calendar for Mommy and Me’s! Now it’s over a year and a half and we’re meeting up again for her newest addition, Raleigh Jane’s newborn session. Read More »
Y’all! I couldn’t be more excited to share with you the Brown Family’s newborn session! I’ve gotten the pleasure of working with this family over the years and have loved getting to know Mr. Joseph! He is quite the ham! Seeing him with his new baby sister during this session was nothing short of adorable. He was so sweet, calm and gentle – it’s obvious he’s going to be a GREAT big brother!Read More »
When we were debating whether to make the move up to Baltimore, one of the points on the pro/con list that came up with that this business had started in Richmond and had a large client base there. Ultimately when we decided to take a chance and move, I have to admit that I was nervous about the future of this business. I didn’t know if I’d be able to get clients in Baltimore or even if anyone up here would be interested. And then we announced we were moving and I was blown away with gratitude when Krystal contacted me almost immediately.
Krystal and I were sorority sisters at JMU but hadn’t been in touch for a few years since we had graduated. It was such a wonderful surprise to find that she had been following along in my photography journey! Not only that but she wanted to schedule portrait sessions for her family! She told me she was pregnant with her third baby and wanted to ensure she could get photographs of their family in this precious stage in life. It was a great feeling, my first session in Maryland was going to be with an old friend who I already knew and felt comfortable with!Read More »
For some these images may seem like a simple new baby announcement but they are SO much more than that. These pictures represents a journey. A hard, beautiful journey filled with love and hope and one that I’ve gotten to be a part of as a friend and photographer since the very beginning. Amanda was the first person I ever took pictures of “professionally” and has since trusted me with her biggest milestones. I say professionally in quotes because I had never, I repeat, NEVER taken pictures of people before Amanda asked me to shoot her engagement pictures. I sometimes can’t believe she trusted me with this and then later when she called me to do her newborn session, my FIRST newborn session! She saw something in me and pushed me to start something before I even knew to try. From maternity to newborn, to a cake smash to the moment when she called me and told me she was pregnant again after years of waiting. Years of what I can only assume was hope and prayers and deep heartaches and now she is expecting her second baby, a GIRL! Read More »
This girl is one of my favorite people!! She joined our science team at Quioccasin my third year teaching and we became fast friends. We would laugh our way through the obscure moments, cry through the tough moments (or at least I would) and she always had starbursts for me to eat. I’ll never forget when she told me she was pregnant with Zack in the drive thru of Chick Fila as she looked at me and said “Oh yeah so.. I’m pregnant”. I SCREAMED with delight! Fast forward and she welcomes Zoe to the family making this one cute family of four.Read More »
Meet my new nephew!! That’s right this little cutie is my sister in law’s son and so obviously I’m biased in thinking he’s precious! He is officially a month old now and doing very well! His sister Cora has adapted so well and is really sweet with him. She is gentle and kind and even calms him down by saying “It’s okay little buddy, it’s okay.” ::swoon:: Sam meanwhile is an observer, calm and quietly takes it all in. He has big blue eyes that watch you intently. It’s going to be great watching these two grow up! Read More »
